I am a single independent woman who spends an inordinate amount of time travelling for work and for fun – sailing, skiing, hiking and adventure.
Through different places and meeting new people, I like to think I’m a traveller rather than a tourist.
As a journalist who usually writes about science and the environment for a living, writing about my travels and taking photos is second nature.
Occasionally I get around to submitting stories to magazines and newspapers, but this is getting harder and harder with fewer publications and more journalists out of work.
Hence, Tales with TWIST sharing stories and photos of my travels.
I’m hoping other single, independent women find my adventures interesting and inspiring. But the tales are for everyone and anyone who comes, so enjoy.
Tales with a TWIST helps fulfill my 2013 goals which are summarised by thinking about Chai T:
Creativity – this blog amongst other things like re-starting my novel or perhaps thinking of a new one
Health – which all my adventures, and training for them, will help me achieve
Adventure – including hiking in New Zealand in February and sailing the Caribbean regattas in March-April (watch for the tales)
Inspire others – which I hope this blog will do
Thesis – work on progressing that pesky PhD
- North Stradbroke Island -The inspiration for all my tales
